About TeakDeals
TeakDeals manufactures elegant teak furniture for outdoor living: dining sets, chairs, benches, loungers, sofas, storage cabinets and patio umbrellas.
Every piece is built from Grade A teak, kiln-dried before construction. Critical connections use traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery held to strict tolerances, finished with marine-quality stainless steel hardware.
The range runs from four-piece round-table sets to extension dining tables that seat twelve, with matching Sunbrella cushions in a choice of fabrics. TeakDeals sells through its own website, teakdeals.com, and on marketplaces such as Houzz.
The Challenge
Teak furniture is a craft product with an industrial supply chain, and TeakDeals needed one system to run both.
Every piece starts as raw teak and ends on a customer’s patio. In between sit timber purchasing, precision joinery, finishing, hardware, cushions and delivery. Four things made that hard to manage without a connected ERP:
Multi-component products: Teak frames, stainless steel hardware, aluminum handles, marble tops and Sunbrella cushions, each with its own suppliers and stock levels.
Sets and options: Dining sets pair one table with four to twelve chairs, and many pieces offer cushions in several fabrics.
Craft-level quality: Mortise-and-tenon joints held to strict tolerances need checking during production, not after a piece ships.
Several sales channels: Orders arrive through teakdeals.com and marketplaces, so stock and production status must be accurate everywhere.
TeakDeals needed a single ERP connecting sales, purchasing, production, inventory, quality and finance, without losing the flexibility a craft workshop depends on.
The Solution
We implemented Odoo Enterprise as TeakDeals’ single ERP, covering every stage from buying timber to invoicing the customer.
| Business area | Odoo app | What it handles for TeakDeals |
|---|---|---|
| Selling | Sales | Quotes and orders for single pieces, full dining sets and cushion options |
| Buying | Purchase | Teak, hardware, fabric and other supplies, with replenishment suggestions based on demand and stock |
| Stock | Inventory | Timber, components and finished furniture, with lot traceability from material to finished piece |
| Production | Manufacturing and Shop Floor | Bills of materials for each design, work orders, capacity planning and a tablet view for the workshop |
| Product design | PLM | Version control for bills of materials as designs evolve |
| Quality | Quality | Control points with instructions at each workstation |
| Equipment | Maintenance | Preventive and corrective maintenance for workshop machinery |
| Finance | Accounting | Invoices, vendor bills and product costing |
Each design carries its own bill of materials, listing teak components, hardware and finishing materials, with work orders for each production step. Because Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Manufacturing share one database, a confirmed order shows at once whether components are in stock, or need to be made or bought.
Shop Floor, PLM, Quality and Accounting are Odoo Enterprise apps, which is why TeakDeals runs on Odoo Enterprise; see Odoo’s editions comparison.
How We Implemented It
We followed a structured path from process mapping to go-live, so the system reflected how TeakDeals actually builds furniture.
- Discovery: Mapped the full order-to-delivery process, from timber purchasing to shipping.
- Product data: Built the catalog, bills of materials and work centers for each design.
- Configuration: Set up Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, PLM, Quality, Maintenance and Accounting around those processes.
- Data migration: Loaded customers, vendors, products and opening stock.
- Testing: Ran real orders end to end before go-live.
- Training: Trained each team on the apps they use every day.
- Go-live and support: Launched, then stayed on hand to fine-tune workflows.
The Results
TeakDeals now runs sales, purchasing, production, inventory, quality and accounting in one system, with every team working from the same data.
In the Owner’s Words
“Every TeakDeals piece starts as raw teak and ends up on a customer’s patio, and a lot happens in between. Brazen Group took the time to understand how we actually build furniture, then set up Odoo so sales, purchasing, production, inventory, quality and accounting all run in one system. Today our whole team can see what’s been ordered, what’s on the shop floor and what’s ready to ship, without chasing updates. I’d recommend Brazen Group to any manufacturer that wants a partner who understands the workshop as well as the software.”
